The Dale family from Odd Rode and Scholar Green ( Astbury) in Cheshire

I am working on my family tree and have got back as far as Joseph Dale  born 1786 in Odd Rode. There seem to be several Dale families living there around that time. I was wondering where I could find further information and get further back. Can anyone help?

Familysearch has two christenings in Odd Rode,

John Dale st thomas 1812 parents Joseph and Ann
Mary Dale st thomas 1815 parents Joseph and Ann.

It is possible these are children of your Joseph.

St Thomas was a private chapel for the warbutton family and only a few records exist.

A Joseph Dale married Ann leek in astbury 1809, astbury was the parish church for odd rode.

There is a birth in Church Lawton  for Joseph dale 11 Feb 1787, with father John, Joseph and Ann named their son John, possibly after his grandfather.

Speculation only as there are quite a few Dales in the area, sometimes you have to try and eliminate all the others.

Oh dear I have just seen on Familysearch a marriage bond for Joseph Dale born 1785 in odd rode to Rachael Goodyear, in 1806, Joseph is shown as aged 21 and a widower, I might have to rethink.

Can't see any children born to Rachael and Joseph.

Very interesting and thank you. I've actually got a baptism date for Joseph Dale for 5 October  1789 at Astbury showing parents as being Ann and Peter Dale. He marries Ann ( Nancy) Lea in 1809 at Astbury. And then I've got quite a lot of detail about their children. I can find no further information on Joseph's parents  so the trail runs cold although there is evidence of Dales in the area one hundred years earlier. Quite a puzzle
