William Harold Smith b c 1904

Looking for some assistance:

William Harold Smith was born in Belfast c 1904. See:

He was still alive in 1953 when he was named as executor in his mother’s will. At that time he was living at Ardkill, Killiney, Co Dublin. He was a company director, and I am fairly sure was married to Ruth Somers Beatty.  They had at least one son born 1937 (name withheld as he might well be alive).

I can’t find any trace of William after 1953. Ideally I’d like to find his date of death and will. Any ideas?

There is a Ruth Smith from Dublin 18 aged 80 buried in a standard grave in Glasnevin in 1986.

Where did you find the will details? I am looking for one but not sure of the year and have been trawling through the wills year by year. Do you have an easier source? Thanks

just enter the name into search archives

sometimes just entering a known address will throw up relatives

Also meant to say when searching for a Will or Probate for a known date of death which you cant find if you come upon a similar name for a later date ie my family owned a farm in Wexford which i knew was handed down through the generations but looking for the obvious person which in most cases would be the male of the family yielded nothing as he was fairly old in 1911

and i had no idea when any of the others died but did know that the servant Thomas Doyle married my grandmothers sister Ellen listed as Niece above as my mother used visit them for her school holidays in the forties.
so i came upon a probate dated 1943 where the Mary Anne sister above died
she actually died in 1927 which i did not know and only found it by pure chance by checking the name Kent ,Mary A,spinster.1943.
