Francis Brunt circa 1770's
« on: Saturday 13 February 16 19:18 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for a baptism for Francis Brunt/Brant/Brent.
He is on the 1841 census living in Castle St, Penkhull aged 66 with his wife Hannah and their children.
He marries hannah Mellor (wid) in 1805 at Stoke-on-Trent Parish and his occupation is given as printer. I believe he dies in 1843 in Stoke.
I am looking for a baptism. So far the only one I can see is 31 may 1778 at Cheadle to John & Mary Brunt but I am pretty sure that this is a different Francis as there are Francis Brunt deaths in Cheadle for 1845. But I am not too sure

Hi Marg

No I don't have the death cert. (yet). But the 1841 census entry puts him around 1775 mark. The CHeadle bap. would be the obvious choice but for the number of records that indicate a different Franci Brunt lived there. I am wondering if I might find him in the non-conformist records for Stoke area. THere were definitley other Brunts living in Penkhull including a William Brunt d. 1809 who's will I have seen but no reference is made to a sone called Francis.

There are a couple of burials here, but they are for children, not sure if this helps, I did see that Francis had a daughter named Mary could this be after Francis's mother

I think that the 1817 Cheadle burial (aged 38) is the Francis Brunt bap. in Cheadle in 1778.
The 1846 burial (also Cheadle) was at 7 weeks.
The 1815 Kingsley burial (aged 61) would have been interesting as a possible parent but he died a bachelor intestate (according to a will document in Lichfield).
Thanks for helping me though it is much appreciated

Francis Brunt of Penkhull died 3rd May 1843 aged 66 according to the death record. Which puts his birth around 1780.

Hi Duncan

What record is that, is it the burial record, or his death certificate, it looks a good match
