Crowfoot
« on: Tuesday 16 February 16 01:20 GMT (UK) »
My great-great-great-great-grandfather, Joseph Lyall is buried in Chirnside Parish Church Cemetery. His gravestone says, "Joseph Lyall late tenant in Crowfoot 20.3.1799 59yrs." Does anyone know anything about Crowfoot, near Chirnside? Was it a village? Was it a farm? Where, specifically, was it located? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Easter and Wester Crowbutt http://maps.nls.uk/view/74943820

Its on the B6355 just east of the village.  Wester is gone but Easter still stands.

Thanks, Don. I live in the U.S., and have never ordered any documents from the National Records of Scotland. Any suggestions on ordering a copy of the document you mentioned? Thanks!
