St Finbarr's Hospital Cork City - Records
« on: Tuesday 16 February 16 19:49 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I cannot find the death record for my Great Grandmother Mary Smyth who is said to have died in St Finbarr's Hospital in Cork City in 1945 / 1946, according to her marriage cert in 1894 and the 1901 and 1911 census Mary was born in 1866. I have only found 2 potential records but the ages don't match

Before I send away to Roscommon for the certs, I was wondering if anyone has online access to civil records that could tell me the details of the below record (i.e. is the woman listed as a widow):

Name - Mary SMYTH
Year of Death - 1945
Group Registration ID - 2577030
SR District/Reg Area  Cork
Deceased Age at Death - 65

Name MARY SMITH
Year of Death 1946
Group Registration ID 2815125
SR District/Reg Area Cork
Deceased Age at Death 73

Just a suggestion to try here in ''search archives ''which might yield a Will or Probate, you will have to search under both spelling's of Smyth/Smith and to note Will's etc were not alway's granted in year of death so may be granted years later.
At the moment the site is giving me a'' server error '' so i dont know if its down for maintainance or a problem with my computer.
