I did see that but i couldn't find a marriage? It's bugging me now!

Perhaps they didn't marry. I tried Peter Cliffe with just the name Tamar in case she'd married before, but no luck.

Perhaps! Would they list her as his wife on his grave if they weren't?

I can't see why not, if they'd been together all that time, people probably thought they were married. It just seems a little odd that both "wives" were exactly the same age and born the same place. Also I can't see a death for a Mary Cliffe registered in Runcorn ( Whitney registration district) between 1861 and 1871.

Hi, my gggrandfather Peter Cliffe b 1815 Stretton he married Elizabeth Cragg b1812 I have lots of family history if he is your Peter Cliffe.

There is the death of a Mary Cliff at Runcorn in Sept Quarter 1869 age 46 (see Free BMD -  reference 8a/110) which seems to fit.

Hi.this may be an outside chance but on Cheshirebmd website there is a marriage for Peter Cliff to Jeamer Owen 1861_1865 at St Elphins, Warrington. Perhaps Tamar/Jeamer has been transcribed?

Just checked freebmd and she is transcribed as Teamer Owen.Sep 1862

There are 2 deaths on freebmd , Mary Cliff Runcorn Dec 1861 and Mary Ann Cliff Congleton Mar 1862.
