John Marshall of Blairgowrie b. app.1890
« on: Saturday 20 February 16 12:07 GMT (UK) »
My grandfather was William Marshall. Born Blairgowrie 25/11/1915. Only child of John Marshall and Jemima Rae.

William was schooled in Townhead, Glasgow, and the family moved from Blairgowrie some time between 1915 and 1925.

Unfortunately I don't have any more info on William or Jemima at present. Any information would be very gratefully received thanks?

You need to buy some credits for Scotlands People where you can then view their marriage certificate which will give you names of their respective mothers and fathers.

I had just 1 credit left and the marriage took place in 1915 Camlachie, Glasgow between John Downie Marshall and Jemima Rae.

Lots of progress and got back a further two generations. Hit the wall at;
a) William Marshall (b1794) married Mary Crabb on 1/12/1843 in Dundee. They lived at Northfieldhill, Rattray

b) James Wardlaw married Helen Robertson. They lived at Keathbank, rattray and had a daughter called Elizabeth Wardlaw (b1841)

Just a birth year for James Wardlaw of 1794.

Do you have something up your sleeve? :-)
