Hussian/ Heshan
« on: Monday 22 February 16 11:43 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find something (anything) on my 2nd g gmother Margaret Hussain. Her maiden name on her son's birth certificate is given as Heshan. She married Peter Griffiths in 1849 and I have her on the 1851, 1871, 1881 census and also her death in Mold but I cannot find anything before she married.
She was born (according to census) in Galway abt 1829.

Hi Maggsie
Thanks for your reply. No, it wasn't for me. This may well be her, although she seems a bit young. I will have her father's name tomorrow (hopefully) on her marriage certificate.

I now have the marriage certificate. Married November 1849 in Holywell, Wales. Father is Morris Hussian. There are two witnesses Michael Hussian and Margaret Hussian. I can find nothing at all but perhaps I am not looking on the right sites for Ireland. Any help would be appreciated.

It certainly ties in. Morris's children were born in N Wales but why would the father's name be given as Morris and the witnesses were Michael and Margaret unless, of course, it was written down the wrong way around. On the marriage cert. father Morris was a labourer and on this census he is a labourer too. There must be some connection. It's too much of a coincidence. Thank you dathai. I really appreciate you finding this.

Unlikely to be Margaret Hussain's father because she was married in 1849.  :(

Having looked at this almost every day for weeks, I have not made any progress at all.  :'(
