Roach and Lewis from Llanhowel
« on: Monday 22 February 16 11:44 GMT (UK) »
I have a marriage certificate for a William Roach and a Johanna Lewis 10th July 1838 at Llanhowel.
William was a Mason at Llanhowel and his father was Erasmus Roach.Johanna lived at Fagwr Eilw Lane and her father was William Lewis.

Just wondering if anyone has any further details of the two families.

Many Thanks

Hi again, cannot at present locate a baptism for William, but it looks like family also used the alternative spelling of ROCH:-

Ann Roch 1804
Thomas 1802
Both Letterston
Father Erasmus Mother Ann

Maybe nothing but 1887 map shows a rhysgwyllt about a mile north of Letteston with a quarry very close by.

There is a village called Roch on the coast, it is always pronounced   Roach.

Definitely of no use but Letterston has a renowned fish and chip shop.  :) :)
