Nancy or Ann Steel, Nichol Forest
« on: Monday 22 February 16 12:31 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Does anyone have access to the parish registers of Nichol Forest?

I am trying to access a baptism for a daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Steel in 1776 Nichol Forest

Was she Ann or Nancy Steel?

my thanks

Hi, this was the only one I found, not saying it is your Ann/Nancy.
Most Ann ladies are called Nancy, I don't know why but some are!

thank you

I know that Ann can be put down as Nancy, I am not sure what it is on the original though

She was baptised on 28th July 1776

I can't see why someone transcribing the baptism register would write Nancy if the register said Ann.  :-\
