I have a few questions.  :)

Could you please tell us Mary's husband's name?

Do you know Mary's date of birth? We need some dates in order to try to locate them, as the names are fairly common.

Regarding the places Mary lived - are these from family knowledge or census records?

When  you say "grandfather unknown" - do you mean Mary's grandfather?

Who is believed to have committed suicide? Mary or her grandfather?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am just trying to clarify so we can try to help you.  :)

Once tale, he killed himself near rail lines?? times were hard I guess in them days with 17 kids. She was known to live in Bath Lane, Thornaby Stockton on Tees.  Then Greta Road, Norton, Stockton on tees, 40s to 70s ish? my father was William Graham born around 1946 ish, married 1962 spouse Hardy, and died at the age of 49 I think, in Stockton on tees

Other than the marriage, I can't see a William Graham exactly matching the details you have given.

Might he have been born 7 Nov 1943, and died in Newcastle in 1997?

Hi MyAngel

Do you have a copy of your parents marriage certificate?

That should give the name of his father, your grandfather, and his age at the time of the marriage.
