Mullet
« on: Tuesday 23 February 16 17:41 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor Robert Foot b1735 married Ann Mullet b1731 both of Buckland Newton at the village church on the 8th Oct 1761. I believe her parents were William and Sarah. I have drawn a blank with the Mullet's and any information would be much appreciated.

Many thanks  Mark

Hi
Robert Foot and Ann Mullet are my 5X great grand parents.  I haven't realy yet started to look furhter back as I have other branches that I am also working on.
I have found most of the information about my ancestors from Dorset from Dorset opc.  It is a great resource although there re gaps and I have seen other Mulletts which I haven't yet linked to Ann.  I have also found information on Find My Past in the A-Z search section and typing in Dorset.
If I find any further information about Ann or her husband Robert I will post it here.

Hello
As you say William and Sarah Mullett seem to be her parents.
Ann d of William and Sarah baptised 1.6.1732
William 26.6.1723 ,Dionysus 28.4.1725,Sarah 21.3.1728 and Unity d of W and S 24.5.1731.

There is a possible marriage at Shaftesbury Holy Trinity
William Mullett and Sarah Oram 31.12.1712

Sara Mullet buried 5.12.1779  Buckland Newton

Possible baptism for  William 13.1.1697 to John and Maria/Mary  but obviously the marriage doesn't fit  but the baptism is ok  for the first child born 1723.

Apprenticeship suggests John is a tailor
John Mullet master Tailor Buckland Newton
Indenture or registration year   1725
Premium   £5 .0s 0d
John Pester of Montacute son of William

Other children John 10.2.1684-26.10.1692  ,Robert 1.8.1687,Robert 20.5.1689,Maria 5.11.1695,Abigail 4.4.1704.
(some just John).

John Senior buried 11.9.1737?

I could push on but the latin is a bit difficult to read.

Hi
Just to throw a spanner in the works -
I am also a descendant of Robert Foot and Ann Mullett married in 1761 and I have been searching for details for them.  From the Dorset opc for the parish of Buckland Newton there were 8 children of Robert and Ann Foot baptised from  Mary in 1765 to Priscilla in 1782.  If Ann Mullett was born in 1731  her last child was born when Ann was 51.  So I am wondering whether there are any other Ann Mullett's in the area born a few years later that might be a better match?
