Castletown Cork, marriage Charles Brady to Anne Hampston approx 1855
« on: Tuesday 23 February 16 19:20 GMT (UK) »
Hello again, I would be grateful for any help in tracking down the following records please.

I am looking for the marriage of Charles Brady to Anne Hampston in approx. 1855.  Their first child, I believe, was born in 1857 in Castletown.

I am also looking for the baptism of Charles Brady.  I believe he was born around 1821, probably in Castletown.

Nothing is showing up on Family Search, Find my Past Ireland or the geneology Ireland site.  Brady is sometimes spelt Bready.

Many thanks for any help you can give

Try  registers.nli.ie  if RC's ?
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

There is more than one Castletown in Cork and several places beginning with Castletown.

In Griffith's Valuation the name Hampston appears in only two Civil Parishes, KILCATHERINE and KILLACONENAGH

Castletown Bearhaven AKA Castletownbere is in Killaconenagh in the Poor Law Union of Castletown.
Might be worth a look.
Were they RC or COI?

Hello, thank you for getting back to me.  The only lead I have is a copy of the birth record for one of the children, Patrick born 11/11/1866.  On that record it just says District of Castletown, Union of Castletown, County of Cork.  There is another word underneath each persons name that I can't read.  It looks like it starts with File and ends with a y!  Does this help?

The following children were born in Cork City.  Yes they were RCs,

Just seen your new post, havent come across that name, certainly not given to me by Cork Cathedral.  They gave me the children James, Patrick, John, Mary and Hannah.  I will check that one out thank you.  Really trying to get back to Charles and maybe find his father who could be a James (seems they alternate between James and Charles, very confusing!)
Many thanks

This map will show you the Registration district of Castletown, bottom left, that is the same area the Hampston name shows in Griffith's Valuation
