Christina McIntyre Oban 1911
« on: Sunday 28 February 16 19:54 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I have been off my family research for ages now but sparked my interest again tonight and have got back on the trail of my 2nd great aunt who I still cannot find a death for.
I know she was born in 1893, I believe in Oban but definitely in Argyll.  She is the daughter of Dugald McIntyre and Helen McGillivray.  She has an older brother Donald (my gg grandfather) and younger siblings Helen, Martin, Hugh, Jessie and Kate.
I have them in the 1901 and 1911 census in Oban.  I can find no marriage for Christina and have checked all the ones in Argyll and a few others.  I can find no death either.  I have also failed to find deaths for Jessie and Kate but I want to get Christina finished first before moving on to them!

Thanks for any help you can give :)

You have about 15 choices but here are two close to home to consider.

1963 MACINTYRE CHRISTINA     F 71 KILBRIDE (BUTE) /BUTE 553/02 0006
1962 MACINTYRE CHRISTINA   CRAWFORD F 68 KILMORE AND KILBRIDE /ARGYLL 523/00 0039

These and others you can download here http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Hi ails81 and Don

For later, when you move on to the others....there is a death in Oban for a Helen McIntyre/Cameron in 1983, aged 87 which I thought would fit with the age for Helen showing in 1901. You have the 1901 entry, but just for ref here:

Dugald Mcintyre 39 carter Ardgour, Argyllshire
Helen Mcintyre 38 b, Sleat, invernessshire
Donald Mcintyre 8
Christina Mcintyre 7
Helen Mcintyre 5
Martin Mcintyre 3

Address: 12, Tweedale St., Oban

There is also a further death entry in Oban for a Jessie Robertson McIntyre/McDougall in 1985, aged 79. Jessie born after 1901 wasn't she?

With these two entries, you cannot tell which was round both surnames go (maiden and married surnames) until you look at the entry. These dates are outside the period you can view the deaths online. However, I think both marriages show on SP and are before the cut-off meaning you could view them online when you are ready to look at the rest of the siblings.

Monica

ADDED: Ooops! Think you have Helen's details from what you mentioned first. Hopefully Jessie is the correct one.
