Ordering Copy Certificates
« on: Sunday 28 February 16 20:07 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I have been reading the helpful guidance on Roots Chat about ordering copy certificates and downloaded the appropriate combined application form.

I wonder if someone could kindly clarify;

1. What does Group I.D. mean on this combined applic. form.
2. Whether it is acceptable to list several requests on the same form. (it looks as though you can - I would just rather be safe than sorry when sending it through the post).

Many thanks

On IrishGenealogy they sometime use Group I.D instead of Page, Vol etc. on their index.

So you will use Group I.D or Year, Quarter etc when ordering depending on which they have used on the record you want.
If you found the record on FamilySearch it won't have a Group I.D.

You can list several requests on the same form.

Thank you Sinann for the helpful explanation.

I am now considering using a Research Company to obtain copies for me. I really don't like the idea of sending my credit card number through the post. I have emailed a company to check their charges.
