Records Question
« on: Thursday 03 March 16 10:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi There,

I was given information on 2 marriages a few years ago. They included fathers name etc. I've found the 2 marriages in the new RC records that have come out and one of the marriages has no info other than the groom and brides names. And the other has the witnesses but no fathers. They are 1870 and 1875. Would the other details have come from the civil records maybe? If so is there anywhere they can be checked? I was just given typed info and I'm now wondering if it is right.

Thanks,
Holly

it's quite common for the earlier RC marriage records to show only these details - father's name and occupations should be on the cert (civil record)

Where would I get a copy of the certificate from?

The 1870 marriage might be in the extracted Irish marriage records on LDS site-
