Groom, that is the tree I am following and the owner of that tree past on the marriage certificate, however I am not convinced that George Gale is George Francis Gale the information supporting that link does not really stand up to scrutiny.

Great find Mathew another line worth following thank you

However, you do know that if you have the correct certificate, your George's father is George Sampson Gale. So do you think they have attached him to the wrong family?

Have found a Esther Ann Gale who married a William Wood in 1898 in West Derby, Liverpool.  In 1911 she and her husband are living at 17 Plumpton Street Liverpool.  Tracing Esther back to 1881 she is living with her father Sampson Gale (born Bridport, Dorset) and mother Eliza.  In 1891 Esther is living with her widowed mother Eliza and brother George born abt 1882.  The only fly in the ointment is that on the 1881 Sampson is shown as a Glass & China dealer.  However since he had died between 1881 & 1891 perhaps his exact occupation got muddled.  Also however I have not been able to find a death for Sampson perhaps he died at sea or abroad?

Groom, I am sure we have the correct certificate a Gale married a Quintell and there is only one of those.

I have found an Liza McLoughlin marrying a William Darlington in 1867 Liverpool.  Couple of deaths for a William in Liverpool between 1867 & 1871.  On the 1891 census Eliza Gale has her father William McLaughlin living with her - great find Groom well done.

Just need to follow the 1887 death through now but this line looks good.
