http://www.rootschat.com/links/01h7q/ is McCarthys from Cork who applied!
By Cork I mean the address they said they lived at in 1841 or 51 so Census can be checked!
That's a really interesting link Hallmark, but as I was glued to my computer all night until 5.00 a.m. this morning I'll just bookmark it for now.
Last night I was attacking the McCarthy line from a different angle hoping for a bit of daylight. I'm following a Daniel born 1839 in Cardiff, Wales. His parents and older siblings were born in Ireland. The whole family have such common names that there's a big question mark raised whenever I find anything. The added problem is that mother Mary had a short life and the family seem to have moved from Cardiff, so of the many Mary McC which one is she and where did she die. Additionally, Daniel seems to have moved out of the family home as a child Last night I thought I'd see what I could come up with on mother Mary's ancestral line by using the names of her 2nd son Daniel and oldest daughter Emma. I'd already got a list of possible Mary/Patrick marriages which gave the brides surnames/parentage and I thought maybe I could compare names on the Pension list with names on my marriage list. Currently the maiden surname "Power" heads the list.
