Taylor, Robert Henry
« on: Wednesday 09 March 16 19:52 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for more information on my Great-grandfather, born 1875(approx.) in St Helens Isle of Wight. He died in New Zealand, he had he and his wife had my grandmother in 1907 and her brother Bruce in 1910. I never knew of him or the son Bruce, I met my grandmother's sister Iris who was one of a set of twins the other was Vanda, They were her step-sisters and story has it that my grandmother left home at a youngish age but no Idea how true that is.

They were her step-sisters

So did Robert marry again or did his first wife re-marry?

I don't know if he married in England or in New Zealand I have next to nothing on him at all, I have one picture and I can not access any trees in ancestry.
Thank you

Hi Aynn   Going by some information on some trees Robert Henry Taylor was born 26/5/1875 father Samuel Taylor mother Eliza Ann Rayner ...If you try www.familysearch.org you will find an immigration record for this family in 1877 going to Nelson New Zealand although he is listed as Henry R Taylor ..
There is a marriage for Robert Henry Taylor 1907 to Elizabeth Russell New Zealand I would suggest trying to get a copy of this marriage to see if any parent's are mentioned ...Always better to check as a lot of information on tree's are very misleading
Going by the Names you mentioned this is the births
Vanda Taylor born 1903 Masterton Iris Taylor born 1903 Masterton
Bona Taylor born 1908 Pahiatua ...is this your grandmother ?
Bruce Samuel Taylor born 1910 Pahiatua died 1993
Deceased estate for Robert Henry Taylor died 1938 said he was a hairdresser and tobacconist hope this helps
