Hi all  looking for imfo on George Burroughs says he was born 1851 in newbury  mosa Middlesex  cant find family there parents ect. help please..

1861 census Mosa Township has Peter 17, George 12 & John 11 Burroughs living with 2 Armstrong families.  Seems likely that they were orphans, maybe with mother's side of family?

No luck on this family after 1861 but did find a tree on A****try for what looks to be George.

Born Nov 11,1851 Newbury died 1922 Chatham,Kent Ont. Married Marie Lauzon did not find a marriage.

2 children born 1 boy and 1 girl. Found a birth for George Burroughs born 7 May,1910 Kent, Ontario but no record for the girl. Father George Burroughs, mother Marie Lauzon.

After taking another look at the birth record for George Burroughs I noticed  it indicates  the parents
George and Marie married at Sarnia, Ontario 1899 but have not found a marriage registration for them.

Born Nov 11,1851 Newbury died 1922 Chatham,Kent Ont. Married Marie Lauzon did not find a marriage.

Either George's daughter knew squat about her parents or that tree is wrong.

The 1922 death registration has George's birth date as 11 Nov 1860 in Newbury with the informant as daughter, Anna May Grant. Anna's marriage registration gives her parents as George Burrows and Mary Cedar. There is a Lambton birth registration for Anna May Burrows whose parents are George Burrows and Mary Smith.

Anna May was my grand mother its the right family  but so many confusing things like names her mother was marie Lauzon  sarnia birth is correct name  mary smith  its like an alias  they lived on a house boat   I have a picture of them on it   George was a traveling carpenter just cant find any more imfo on him or his parents  totally lost.

This is insane. On the 1911 census George's birth information says he was born Jul 1866. Based on numerous sources there is a 20 year variation in his birth year.

Was he married more than once? A first marriage at age 50 is not exactly the norm.

George Burroughs, 38, widower, carpenter, born Newberry, parents George & Mary Burroughs married Mary Boyd Forsythe, 39, widow, born Oxford Ont parents John Hamilton & Jane Duffies on 24 Aug 1893 in Windsor Ont.
