Can someone please look up a marriage Waterford Ireland - Michael Bateman to Anne Beville.

The birth certificate of their daughter 1848, Melicina Bateman, has Helvick, Waterford, Ireland.
It also refers to "Ringagoonagh

They are 'Church of Ireland'

Thank you so much ;D ;D ;D ;D

Helvick is quite a long way from Lismore, but Findmypast has a marriage in 1846 for a Melissina Beville.   I wonder whether she is a relative.

No.

However a Michael Bateman comes up in the newspaper - Waterford mail Dec 19th, 1857.
"Michael Bateman and John Keane, applicants - To build 12 perches of a protecting wall on the road from Helvick to Dungarven between Johanna Hally's house and Thomas Leahy's house - not to exceed £15 - rejected......"

Would he be Michael J. Bateman?

There's a very long letter to the editor of The Cork Examiner from a Michael J. Bateman of Grandison Cove, Helvick Head in 1850 about the Helvick and Ballinagoul Fisheries.

And a letter from a Sir Charles Shaw from Cappoquin mentions Michael Bateman as well.   So perhaps there is a Lismore connection and Cappoquin is getting close to Cork, so your information about Cork could be correct.

From this letter it is clear that he knows Charles Shaw and Lord Stuart (de Decies) .  Perhaps he worked for Lord Stuart?

I don't have time right now but I can get the details of this letter later.   In a nutshell Lord Stuart allowed Scottish fisherman to use his land rent free for a period and Michael Bateman was responding to a letter that said Lord Stuart had not been a good landlord.

I have ancestors from Lismore and Cappoquin and their relatives pop up in both Waterford and Cork.

Lord Stuart is a descendant of the Villiers-Stuart family after whom Villierstown was named.   They brought Protestant linen workers to Villierstown from further north in Ireland a few decades before this.
