« on: Monday 14 March 16 11:28 GMT (UK) »
Seeking information of burial details of Thomas McBride ( b1814) and his wife Elizabeth McBride (b1808), both long time residents of St.Heliers but show no results after 1881 census, similarly thier daughter Mary A McBride (b1851) and her son Henry (b 1877).

I wonder if the 1881 is wrong  :-\

It gives Thomas & wife Elizabeth as McBride.  The surname for Mary A (daughter age 30 MARRIED ) and Henry (SON age 4) has been dittoed.

I wonder if Mary A was already married and Henry was her son, or was she still single & Henry illegitimate

If you look at Henry's details on the 1881 it does say that he is the son of Mary Ann and as she is listed with Thomas and Elizabeth in 1851 as being 3 months old it's very likely that Henry was illegitimate. In fact going back to the 1851 I do wonder if Mary Ann wasn't the illegitimate daughter of the 16 year old Elizabeth McBride shown on that census. Mary Ann's birth was registered in St Helier between June 1850 and June 1851 so it might be worth a look at the register - I'll put it on my 'to do' list.

It says that Henry is the son of the Head of the household who is Thomas.

Where does that information come from  :-\

The original census record and not Ancestry's interpretation of it it does not say that Mary A is his mother.  It says he is the son of the head of the house.

Thankyou for your contributions to date, the 1891 census information re Thomas McBride is valuable. His wife Elizabeth was six years older than him and I had thought unlikely to be Henry's mother as she would have been 65 when Henry was born.
The first child ,Elizabeth Susan McBride (c1834) was my great grandmother and the possibility that she was Mary"s mother is an interesting one. Elizabeth Susan McBride was married to Henri Davi Henriod ( from Le Havre,France) in 1861 in St.Helier, divorced within a few years, remarried Mr. Lucas on St.Helier who I beleive passed away and she married my great grandfather Alexander Cameron ( from Inverness, Scotland) in Queensland ,Australia.
