England Select Marriages 1538-1973 has a Jo. Marden marriage to a Martha Hussey 9 Feb 1710, Eastbourne.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

I wonder if Jo. is short for John?

John or Joseph. I tend to think John though, as Joseph would more likely be Jos.

Does anyone know of any other Marden marriages that took place at Eastbourne around that same time 1710 onwards?  I have a Mary baptised 1713 and a John baptised 1715 at Eastbourne with a Father John and mother Mary. Mary baptised 1713 had two daughters named Martha.

Can't see any in the SFHG Sussex Marriage Index.
