Good Morning

Needing help finding Duncan McDonald & Elizabeth McGregor . Don't have that much info about where they came from ....... Just got there names from there daughter death cert and there daughter Mary McDonald Young  said she was born in Fort William Invernesshire  about 1808 from the 1841 census
now living Barrhead and died in Barrhead Renfrewshire
Any help finding her birth place and mum & dad I would be gratful

Did you check the OPR marriages for the couple or OPR births for Mary in Scotland's People.  Depending on your level of search experience with SP I would suggest you try the following.

Given that there will be a few McDonald/McGregor marriages I wold suggest searching 1790-1810 Bann's either soundex or surname variants because it could be a Mac or Griggor plus a host of other variations.

For Mary's birth I would look 1800-1810 Inverness and only show list the father Duncan and again soundex and or surname variants because she could have been transcribed as anything from Macdonald - Macdonell and probably others as well. 

I'm sure other's will chip in with their own methods and sources.

Now I feel ready silly i  look up Inverness but can't find Fort William under the Old Parish Registers ,but Inverness  Fort William is there under the statutory registers

Can someone tell me where t find Fort William under the Old Parish Registers
