Thanks for the information.

:)What has any of the above told you about Edwin Thring, what do you know of him marrying/children etc in South Africa, in fact what relationship do you have to him?

This is a very good question. It may be possible to see the connection in my posts, but I will rather give an explanation when I am positive about it. I am not yet.

It is clearly said here:

"Samuel James Thring born 1806 in England. Migrated to South Africa with his then wife Elizabeth Treleaven-Abbot who was born in 1816. They were married at Westminister St. Paul Covent Garden on the 10th of August, 1835. This appears to be his second wife. They migrated to South Africa on a ship called the Sovereign which left Plymouth on November 24, 1849 with 9 children. Their last known address in London was in Marylebone. The children were: Alfred (20, Thomas (18), Henry b. 02 06 1836, James b. 22 01 1838, Emma b. 14 05 1840, Edwin b. 08 05 1842..."

;D Well I could not see the above information in any of your posts, but now you know it is the 1841 family shown earlier, do the children/wife tie in with your findings?

No, the one who immigrated to South Africa is the one I am interested in.
