Thanks hallmark for your info... sorry to show my ignorance here but are all those references concerning Hassett wills? Could be interesting and I'll certainly look into it.

Yes, excerpts from Hassett Wills done by Betham and Lodge!

I think the Librarian email is librarian'at'nli.ie who might be able to say if Cavan is involved!

Great, thanks Hallmark, I'll look into that!

I think the Hassetts were all quite humble and poor people so I'm not sure if they would have made wills but it's worth looking into!

They actually all ended up emigrating to Lancashire where they ended their days, so I'm not sure if that would complicate the wills issue? Certainly worth looking into anyway.
