Where to view copy will?
« on: Friday 18 March 16 09:00 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I have viewed online a Probate entry for someone who died in 1960 in Macroom, but the Probate entry is granted in London. If I wanted to view the will or obtain a copy, who would I contact, Macroom or Cork county council or somewhere in London?

Many thanks,

John

Does it appear on the lists here
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

If so you can get a copy from them.  Make sure that it is a will though and not just an administration

Many thanks Rosie, I have found the transcript on the site. It doesn't mention will or administration, just Probate. Is there any way of checking?

Regards,
John

If it says Administration then there is no will unless it has added 'with will' otherwise there should be a will

Thanks again Rosie. I have paid to order the will, so shall get the link to view over the next week or so.
