Are there photos of the Horwich Board/Council board members.

Apart from what can be found on the "links in a chain, Bolton Town Hall" web site I cant find any group photos of the old Horwich Local Board members from 1882 to the formation of the Horwich Urban District Council in about 1894 and then that Board up to the first world war.
Was the board photographed either as a group in that time or as individual's.
Do portraits etc hang in the local offices in Horwich ?.

John Longworth was Chairman of the Horwich Local Board 1882-84, 1889-94 and then the urban District Council 1894-96.
John Longworth died at Ridgmont House Horwich also in 1896.
I have looked and looked for a photo of this man but without luck, it is believed one may exist in an old book/magazine in regards the Bleaching trade from that period, he was the owner of the Longworth Bleach Works and is buried in the church yard at Holy Trinity.
In fact i cant find a single photo of any thing with the Board members (ie a baord meeting ), i would have thought some photos from that period would have been taken.

Have you tried contacting Horwich heritage?. They are a very good local group they have a website and contact details.
I am sure there are photos on the wall of the public hall.
I will have a dig around i have a couple more books to go through.

 Horwich Heritage  helped me with taking a photo of his grave (a very nice one ) in the grounds of Holy Trinity but was not able to find a photo of the man, i was able to help them with a few details regarding the family tree etc.
The kind lady who works in the Heritage center thought there might be a picture of John Longworth in a book but was not able to find him unfortunately.
I feel sure that this man will be recorded some place in a book at least, he had a long relationship in the local council and of course there was the Bleach works, also a school board he  had a lot to do with.
I cant find much about the local board/council rooms etc but do find this as being a rather large brick wall to break down.

I believe that www.horwich.gov.uk        are the sucessor  body to the Horwich board that you are interested in.   Have a look at that web site,   then contact them  and ask if they have photographs in their archives.
