Place name near Monkstown.
« on: Sunday 20 March 16 08:41 GMT (UK) »
This is from a 1923 marriage cert from Cork.
Can't find the Bride's residence.
The bride was from west Cork but working somewhere near Monkstown/Passage West as a servant.
I think this maybe the name of the House she was working for?
Looks like 'Rossainn'. The Ross part seems clear but then?
Any ideas? Thanks.. Padraig

Thanks. It could be. There are a v. small no. of 'Rossaun's' in other parts of Ireland
But can't find a particular place/house name in Cork via a simple name google.
Not a residence that appears in Guy's 1914 for Monkstown, Passage or Glenbrook.
Doesn't seem listed as a 'Big House' either.
My local contacts around Passage aren't sure either...Might have been a smaller residence now lost to the past?
