1861 Samuel Snr and family are transcribed as Parker, same area.  No sign of Joseph.

Possibly Jane is second wife and not mother to Joseph & Eliza.

is this the most likely lead? he is still living with parents and siblings in 1851. his son Joseph Junior was born in 1856.

I saw that but discounted as he is a widow. He was still with family 1851 as mentioned.

Not impossible, but maybe unlikely to have 2 marriages in 2 years

Added they are on 1861 in Rowley with children Samuel and Ann, he was b 1822.

Checking 1871 for family, Eliza A is down as niece not dau.

There are Parkes and Adams families living on both of these pages and Eliza/William crops up in them.

I don't think the Adams family is connected, other than sister Eliza husband.

I think the only way forward is to contact Dudley register office to ask for a search for Joseph Jnr birth cert, around the yrs you have him born on census
