A snippet from "Jewish Heritage in England" by Sharman Kadish     

Ballybough Jewish Cemetery .........Most of the earliest tombstones are illegible and the burial registers are now untraceable........  By the early 19thC many tombstones had been plundered for secondary use when the Dublin Jewish community went into temproary decline.
