I have been trying to find my great grandmother for the past 5 years, much to no avail.

In the beginning I only knew her name, and where she married and died, and who, etc.

Since the release of the 1939 register, I have now been able to find out my relatives date of birth, but am still trying to find where she was born.

The details I have to date are as follows:

Name: Mary Jane Thomas
D.O.B: 10 Nov 1893
Marriage: 03 Feb 1915 - Woolfardisworthy, Devon
Spouse: William Prance
Children: Walter William Prance
              Edith Mary Prance
Death: 27 April 1949 - Woolsery
Occupation: Domestic Servant

Please can someone help me.
Any help would be much appreciated.

although Mary Jane's father's occupation is an Iron Turner in 1891 not Labourer as per her 1915 m/c from your other thread

The above family probably not your Mary Jane as there's this baptism and her dob does not match up with 1939 register, so I guess this family can be ruled out

As MJT was born 10 November 1893 her birth should be registered in the Dec quarter for 1893

Looking at FreeBMD there are these entries

Dec 1893 Thomas   Mary Jane       Merthyr T.           11a   628

Dec 1893 Thomas   Mary Jane       Aberystwith   11b    61

Dec 1893 Thomas   Mary Jane       Stoke T.           6b   215

There are also quite a number of Mary Thomas' reg. Dec 1893 with no middle name

Will see if any of these match up with a father named William occ Labourer on 1901 census

Who witnessed the 1915 marriage of Mary Jane Thomas to William Prance?
