Do you use Facebook? There is a terrific group there, very active, called Old Lochgilphead and Surrounding Areas, which includes Tayvallich, where I lived as a child before immigrating to Canada. Post that photo on there and I bet you get some great advice from the locals.

I only have a scan of the photo but I found out from it's owner that the photographer was "Prophet, Glasgow"

Reading though that link, not sure that knowing who the photographer was will help much in this case. This family business seem to have specialiased in school photos but no clues on them it seems as to names of schools or locations. The locations of their studios not sure helps either: Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee and Glasgow.
