Hi

I was wondering if I could ask for a little more help with this family.
I'm certain that I have found Peter Fannen in Sunderland in 1851, sadly he was living in Sunderland Union Workhouse, along with three other Fannen children; Patrick, aged 11 years, Mary, aged 9 years, and James, aged 6 years. These may have been slightly inaccurate ages as there doesn't seem to have been any adults with them.
This could be explained by the fact that their father (or at least Peter's father), Darby Fannen was in Durham Gaol in 1850. Aged 30 years he had originated from Ireland but had been brought from Sunderland, charged with 'neglect of his family.'

So it would seem that Darby Fannen had been born around 1820, probably in Roscommon or a neighbouring county.
Can any body trace his marriage to Mary Skeffington (Peter's mother), or his baptism?
