This post is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no way are to be considered flaws. Unfortunately my preferred method of writing (Parker Quink on Basildon Bond) cannot be used.

Deebel,thanks for your input.
Original purpose was to accurately nail down the origins of Isabel Mary Cole Hamilton, born Straree, near Gortin, now confirmed as being  on 27 August 1860.
As you will note from previous posts regarding this family, there are numerous members, many with similar names, with many variations. In fact most interesting crowd,so they all needed looking at.

Hallmark, yes, ministers appear frequently in this extensive family.

My Luck, found an ad in the Londonderry Sentinel dated 13 th July 1860,where Capt Cole Hamilton has stock of oak timber for sale, apply to Capt Cole Hamilton,Straree,Newtownsteward, Co Tyrone.
This only a few weeks before Isabel was born,so family living there.

Hallmark,many thanks indeed.
What an interesting extensive family, this has turned out to be.

Just one thing,as I do not know the area, forgive my ignorance, but would Straree, near Gortin be actually Beltrim or a different place, nearby.
ie,,,Belfast Morning News 31 August 1860, on 27 August at Straree near Gortin, the wife of Captain Cole Hamilton,a daughter.
Her baptism comes before 1864, so only available on paid site Roots Ireland would imagine.Have searched Co Tyrone especially Cappagh Church where the parents married 18 June 1858,but everything else on there excepting 1860.

As My Luck has said maybe November 1860 family staying at Termon Rectory with the Rev Alexander, maybe the answer.

The Cole-Hamilton baptisms are not on rootsireland which is not unusual for families of their stature.
They often had religious as relative and had private baptisms.

I am not personally familiar with this area of Tyrone but Straree seems to be an area or House in Gortin and the address used up to recently although I can't locate on a map! EXAMPLE

McFarland is the names that pops up most associated bith Straree

Beltrim is the name of the Castle and Estate near Gortin - if you search on a map site you can see the area

Thank you.My Luck and Hallmark,

Yes,baptised privately no doubt.  Just wonder if  there is a family archivist.

That just about rounds this one up,but will leave it open and enter the Baptism details when eventually found, many thanks for your continued interest,  Brionne.
