Hallmark,your research is quite amazing.

So have I got this correct,,,, Isabel Marys parents are in fact Captain William Claud Cole Hamilton and Caroline Elizabeth Josephine Stuart,youngest daughter of the Hon Andrew Stuart,marriage 10th June 1858.
There is no mention of this couple having a daughter circa 1860 but have I got this right.

Not being smart but one would get cross eyed trying to figure them out as some men took wife's Surname when marrying, Hamiltons married Hamiltons etc etc so sooner you than me!!  :-))

As mentioned previously, with example, there are newspaper notices (on paid sites that announce a daughter's birth)

Warder and Dublin Weekly Mail 01 September 1860 reads
Hamilton - Aug. 27, at Straree, the wife of Captain William Cole-Hamilton Esq., late of 88th (Connaught Rangers), of a daughter

August 27, at Straree, near Gortin, the wife of Captain William Cole-Hamilton, late of the 88th Connaught Rangers, of a daughter


The Tyrone Constitution of Nov 09 1860 states a number of people including Capt. Cole-Hamilton and his wife were "staying for a few days last week with Rev. S. and Mrs Alexander of Termon rectory" which may be where and when she was baptised; or at least a place to start looking

Sorry,my mistake. Isabel Mary Cole Hamiltons birth 27 August 1860,at Straree,near Gortin,as you have correctly found in both newspapers Warder and Dublin Weekly Mail,1st Sept 1860,and The Evening Freeman 3rd Sept 1860.

Confirms with an identical date of birth 1939 Register,Isabel M Pease 27 Aug 1860 widowed,private means,address,
Spexall South Newton Wilton Salisbury Wiltshire.

Thank you also for unearthing the snippet re where the family were staying 9th Nov 1860.
