George H Davies, which one?
« on: Friday 01 April 16 21:23 BST (UK) »
I've hit a stumbling block and not sure which record could be correct.

My 2nd Great Uncle George H Davies was Born in 1868 in St Martin's Shropshire.

His Parents were Stephen Davies (1841-1905) and Harriet Martin (1845-1932), they lived in Rhoswiel all their lives.

George is listed on the 1871 and 1881 census with the 'H' present, it has been dropped on the 1891 census and the 1901 census, he was a lodger at another property on this one.

I don't know what the H ever stood for.

I have found two 1911 census and don't know if one is correct or neither.

One is a George H Davies age 43 married to a Matilda and both are servants at an address

The other is a George Hughes Davies age 43 listed as Head and married but he's the only one on the census???

Is there anyone who can help point me in the right direction, he was still alive in 1911 so he must be somewhere.

Oh, and I found a 3rd 1911 census for a George Davies age 42 married to an Elizabeth, plus children.

All 3 records are within the same area. It's possibly staring me in the face but I've tried for a while to work it out and can't.

Hi

Would you post the FULL census refs (and adddress and family members) of where you found George ?

We would only have to repeat your searches ( and make the same errors? ).

Fairlane, thank you, I will have to search to know how to find that, I've been doing my family tree since last year, sometimes the simplest things seem to miss me, although I'm still stuck as to how I know where he is after the 1901 census
