charles kerr
« on: Saturday 02 April 16 22:13 BST (UK) »
My great grandma Louisa Kerr was born 1861 to Charles and Mary (Morden)
I can't find any information about Charles baptism for Charles Howe in 1866
 In Stepney
Census in 1871 shows Mary as head
1881 head

Any help in finding Charles kerr

Charles and Mary (Morden)

I can't see the marriage - do you know when it was?

I can't find a Mary Morden  :-\  Louisa was born after 1861 census but they "should" have been married by then.

Where has the surname for Mary come from please?

They may not have officially married but she used his name.

The 1871 looks suspiciously like unmarried for Mary although the 1881 does say widow.

Hi

In the baptism of Louisa E Kerr the family were living at what looks like 32 Gowers Walk Goodmans Fields.

The family that were at that address in the 1861 census ~ Israel Pizar , had a son John PIZAR born 1850 who was a suspect ( cleared by police , but known as 'Leather Apron')  )in the Jack the Ripper murders.

A bit of history  :)

That's interesting Claire  :)

I wonder where Mary and Charles were in 1861  ???  Somewhere in the area I guess but I can't see that they were married can you?
