I think the earlier death may be Alexander Moorhead, Farmer.

I can't get the image at the moment to check.

Perhaps he gave up teaching and changed jobs.

Thanks Heywood and Sinann  ;)
I have been having trouble today with Rootschat  :-\ I have tried a few times and my posts won't go!

From what we know, Alexander was a teacher. (actually stories said 'professor' but teacher works)
He had a daughter Anne born 1900-1910.
We know nothing about any of Anne's siblings or life in Ireland.
Daughter Ann ends up in Toronto Canada by 1930.
Found a Ships record 1925 that fits ...

So, I have been trying to make a connection and thus have been digging in Ireland in hopes it gives up something about Anne Moorhead in Canada.

I appreciate the help (and Heywood, I hope to have that marriage registration in the mail today or tomorrow so stayed tuned on who was who in the Liverpool zoo)

The Salary Books for National Teachers are in the National Archive in Dublin.
They're large dusty books, and a mine of information.

Once you find your teacher, you can follow him/her from year to year, as transfers are shown in the books. Unfortunately, I think they're only accessible up to about 1918. And i presume they're not online (except for the following)

Thank you eadaoin :)

So then to access these 'Salary Books' I would need someone to actually go to the Dublin Archives on my behalf?
Further, you mention they are only available up to 1918.
After that is there a similar source or some such to continue tracking??

They sound like exactly what I am looking for as Alexander did move about and I can only follow to 1911.  I know in 1925 he was in Bellysokeery (Spelling questionable) Ballina, Co. Mayo.

Thanks again

Very  very long shot but if he was still working in the 1930s and if as you say he was in Mayo in 1925 than would you be so lucky to find he was one of the teachers in the Schools' Collection
