And sadly the reason young John was probably sent to live with relatives in Ireland-

Yes, a sad ending ...
There are a couple of those in this lineage line and likely why no one on this side of the pond has gone looking backwards  for family on that side :-\  Until now  ;D

gaffy your Letters of Administratin and wills and codicils are clearly relevant!

I am wondering if the first death 1896, is for father John (married to Ann Anderson) and then possibly their son John b. 1854 (oops 1864) is the one who dies in 1897 and was maybe married to that Catherine Kenny?

Looks like the child buried with Mary Jane is the Margaret Grace born in 1896.

Not sure if this has been found yet-

Nope have not seen it! And will need to take time and again 'compartmentalize' as I am now having a hard time seeing the forest for all these MOORHEAD trees!!!  :P

Hi all

So I have sifted and sorted (you guys are good!) :o
But before I get too overwhelmed with information on all these Moorhead/Mooreheads from Co. Longford and try to figure out the branches there, I have a few housekeeping items I would like to see if I can have clarification with.  Just to help me stayed focused.

I do not want to post on a different board but some of it is in regards to Alexander's 2nd wife Ellen Kingston b. abt 1868 in Co. Cork.
I have sifted through and I cannot for sure find proof that says Ellen's parents are James Kingston and Mary Sullivan.

What I have is just circumstantial - but there seems to have been a couple of Ellen Kingston born in Co. Cork in the time frame.  I know on the 1901 Ellen's widow mother "Mary Kingston" is living with her and Alexander so we know Mary is her mother's first name.  And we know Ellen's father was dead by 1901 too.

Have I missed a piece here  :-\

Where did you get James Kingston and Mary Sullivan? I can't see it.

I think at the moment the only thing for certain is her mother is Mary born Cork about 1831 and her father died before the 31 March 1901 Census.

Hi Sinann

That is what I had written in my copious notes but in back tracking today through all these wonderful tidbits and going through all the stuff in the posts over the past 3 days I cannot see where I got those names either  :P

You are right

I think at the moment the only thing for certain is her mother is Mary born Cork about 1831 and her father died before the 31 March 1901 Census.

Yes, that is where I saw it dathai thanks
And why I had put question marks in my notes around the couple to mean possible candidates for Ellen's parents if a connection could be made to that George Kingston, National Teacher.

The George Kingston son of James Kingston and Mary Sullivan is born 1865 however the George Kingston National Teacher 1901 & 1911 is indicating by ages on the census that he was born 1861
You would think a 'teacher' would know their birth year????

There is actually a tree at Ancestry for the family of James Kingston and Mary Sullivan...
How reliable I cannot say  :-\
No real certificates to prove or disprove - just uses indexes and censuses

They lists 7 children for the couple

Has son George b. 1865 as marrying in 1896 in New South Wales, living and dying there.
Has daughter Ellen b. 1868 as marrying Alexander Moorhead
But no proof these are correct assumptions
