Connecting two Irish families
« on: Wednesday 06 April 16 16:18 BST (UK) »
During my research to find my Irish Callaghan ancestors who came from Navan, Meath I have come across another Callaghan family from Drogheda, Meath.

Given that I have got stuck with my direct line at my 3x great grandfather, how do you suggest that I proceed with this other family?

I have built up a little tree so far for this family.

Thanks.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

When one goes to the Irish 1911 site (free to search) and does a search for Callaghan in couny Meath you find about 70 families. Have you some reason for focusing on one particular family in Drogheda, ? Otherwise you will be diving at random into a very large haystack in search of a needle. Also be aware Drogheda has parts in both Meath and Louth .
