Green Hill, mental hospital Pentrebach 1939??
« on: Wednesday 06 April 16 23:11 BST (UK) »
In the 1939 register my great great uncle is living with his parents in Abercynon. He is 30-something and listed as mentally incapacitated and 'At Green Hill'. My granddad seemed to think that he was at some sort of mental hospital. I've googled it and found a Green Hill Manor Care Home in Pentrebach but I have no idea if it was there in 1939 - seems quite a way to go every day from Abercynon to Pentrebach in those days!

I would be very grateful if anyone had any ideas as I am not local to the area!

Many thanks,
Hannah

Abercynon to Pentrebach is 7 miles by googlemaps.
Lots of people cycle that distance to work every day.  (50 minutes)
Depends what sort of mentally incapacitated he is, but if not physically unfit, should be no problem.

Greenhill manor care home is a relatively recently built establishment (1.e. last 10 yrs or so) so not sure it would be anything to do with your relative
