I wonder if it (Nurnold) is some sort of mishearing of Marnhull ??

There are at least two YOUNG brothers in Portsea (Jo(a)b and Nehemiah) who seem to be the sons of Thomas and Grace of Marnhull. From the baptism records on A*try it looks like there's a Sarah but she's born 1804 so a little old to be Sarah LORD. (unless she's fibbing a bit ).


There are 2 possible deaths for Sarah Wheeler in Portsea :

born 1802 died J-S 1867

born 1818 died J-S 1877

I can't see her on the 1871 census which makes the 1867 death more likely and the birth 1802 would fit quite well with the Marnhull baptism. ( The only " Marlowe " I can find is the Buckinghamshire one ).

I'm afraid i went round in circles trying to match it up but with the uncertainty of her age and birthplace it seems impossible  ::)

The 1802 baptism would also be a better fit for the 1831 marriage, if it is the same woman.
