Ambrose EYLES and Jane Parry PITMAN

Ambrose Eyles married Jane Parry Pitman in London on the 9th Jan 1819.

Ambrose was a brewer in Shaw and he died in Melksham in 1841 but what happened to her?

Anything on this couple would be greatly appreciated

(There is also: EYLES Elizabeth died Dec qtr 1841, Melksham vol 8 p239.  Is she a relative?)

familysearch.org has Ambrose Eyles on the 1841 census index with Ann Eyles and Jane Eyles.  Ann is a similar age to Ambrose while Jane is about 20.  It would be worth seeing if the census document has any helpful information.

It is possible that the census has been badly transcribed and Jane (nee Pitman) is with Ambrose in 1841.
If Ambrose had married Ann by 1841 it would be useful to find a marriage, then that would give a latest date for the death of Jane.

So the 1841 census information suggests that Jane Parry Pitman Eyles died before 1841 and that Ambrose subsequently married Ann (surname not known)

I can't find a death for Jane Eyles on freebmd from Sep 1837 to 1841.

(If young Jane was 18 in 1841 she was probably born around 1823 - although ages on the 1841 census are notoriously haphazard!)

In 1841 he is at Shurnhold cottage, Melksham. I cannot make out what the given occupation is.

The only Jane Eyles that FreeBMD has dying before 1841 is a Jane who died in 1839in Bradford upon Avon. The next door registration district to Melksham.
