Eleanor Brown
« on: Wednesday 13 April 16 12:02 BST (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?

I have an Eleanor Brown baptised 19th June 1821 at Kelloe, Durham, daughter of John and Anne Brown.
Eleanor married a John Gray/Grey on 2nd March 1845 at Kelloe and had the following issue:

Ann Gray born c 1847

John Gray born 1849, died 1849

Isabel Grey baptised 14th September 1851, Wingate, Durham

Eleanor Grey was buried at Kelloe on 3rd November 1895 (born 1821) as Ellen Grey.

Can find Eleanor on the 1851 Census at Wingate, Durham along with husband John and daughter Ann. Also on 1871 Census at Coxhoe as a Widow living with widowed father John Brown.

If anyone can help with where she was in between or after 1851, or what happened to her two children Ann and Isabel I would be very grateful! :)

Durham records online has a record for Ann Grey born 1847 in Shincliffe in the 1861 census and an Isabella Grey born 1851 in Durham on the 1861 census.

You'll have to buy a couple of credits to see if either of those are any good.

You may have looked there already of course.

Best wishes,

Clarrie

The 10 yr old Isabella bn Durham on 1861 is daughter of a widowed Jane, with siblings John Mary Thomas and William.

So does not match up at all.

The baptism in Kelloe said she was born Bowburn if that helps.  The mother was Anne Heron.
