Can someone please help me decipher the abodes in the column above Ratcliff?

Without knowing the location too well, I wondered if it might be something like MEOT, possibly for Mile End Old Town. Does that sound feasible?

I'd plump for Mile End Old Town.

Definitely MEOT = Mile End Old Town, one of the original 'hamlets' of Tower Hamlets.

Useful map and history here ...

For obvious reasons, it frequently appears as MEOT in the registers.
