There's a marriage at Thatcham for John Kimber and Sarah Wilkins 21 Jan  1833. That might explain Ruth Kimber born 1833 , a good while after the others.

Hello, I have just returned to RootsChat after quite a few years.  Straight away I recognised information contained in a thread about Charles Kimber, who settled in Adelaide.  His father, John Kimber was married to a Sarah Ann Broadway and they had a son, Charles, who was a year older than my husband's great grandfather, William Wilkins, who became his stepbrother, after Sarah died and John married William's mother, Sarah Noyce/Noice in 1833. Together, they had a daughter, Ruth, of whom William was very fond and wrote to her kindly encouraging all her scholastic endeavours. I confess that I only knew of Charles, and that he was in South Australia, but otherwise, nothing about him. I do know that William & Charles were regular correspondents but have not seen the letters, if any still exist they are likely to be held by the Mitchell Library in Sydney. Would be very happy to share what I know and to learn more about the Kimber family.
