Davies. The Rock, Shropshire

Robert Davies was born 1773 at The Rock, Shropshire

He married Sarah in 1792 St Martin's. Her maiden name was Davies!

I have no date of birth for her and don't even know if she was from the area or not.

Could somebody help me with the missing details?

Possible baptism in St Martins (Weston Rhyn Tithe Map) in 1772, father John, mother Elizabeth Roberts.  Another possible baptism in 1774, same place, father Edward, mother Ann.
Was Robert the son of Robert and Mary?

Yes, Robert was the Son of Robert and Mary, I also have no dates for them, I'm really struggling now and can't seem to find any info and know if it's correct.

I don't know how to find Sarah at all, her name was Davies before she married as well and I have no dates for her or even know if she came from the same area.

I can't help with the Davies, but can with The Rock. My grandparents lived there in the 1950s. It is near Lawley Bank, about 3 miles from Dawley. Nowadays it is part of rthe urban sprawl, but then was a country lane with houses and large gardens on one side.

I have seen that there was a programme on TV about the restoration on Rock Farmhouse. I'd never heard of it until I've started going further back in my family tree. My Grandad's family were always based around Rhoswiel, Weston Rhyn, St Martins, Chirk, Oswestry, then in more recent years to Ellesmere. I visited the house they had grown up in when I visited the area a few years ago.

Davies isn't an easy name and it's getting more and more difficult.

Totnor, I have just checked and the Rock which you are referring to is Telford. The Rock which is in my research is an area near St Martin's.

I seen a post which said there are 2 areas known as The Rock
