Doesn't a baptism held privately sometimes mean at home, straight after the birth as the child wasn't expected to live? It seems a bit strange though, that if they were twins, they weren't both baptised at the same time, and also why, if George's birth was registered, why wasn't Edith?

I wonder if Edith wasn't Elizabeth's daughter, but was the daughter of her younger sister, Martha, so making her and George cousins not siblings?

PS on the same page as George Thomas Haycock baptism there were at least 3 more for some reason "Held Privately"  none a single women!

Hi was her death also where both candidates for her birth were in later returns/marriage :-

Edith Annie Wallace born 25th January 1894 Death March 1979 Manchester aged 85?

in 1925 when she married the address on cert is Henleaze Gardens, Henleaze, Bristol. and yes that's the correct death :)
