Richard RICHARDSON
« on: Saturday 16 April 16 07:26 BST (UK) »
Hope someone can provide the link for me.
I have a ancestor Richard Richardson who married Isabella Armstrong in the September Quarter 1850 in Darlington, Yorkshire. (Freebdm 24/69). I haven't been able to go back further to confirm who his parents were, but I would like to see if his father was a Richard Richardson who was a surveyor also in Darlington. I have found where a Richard & Isabella Richardson immigrated to Australia in December 1852 on the 'Minnesota' to Victoria.  Hope we can make a connection or at least find who his and Isabella's parents were.

Probably best to purchase the Marriage Certificate?

Cost is only £9.25, including postage anywhere in the world.

You have the details from FreeBMD (Year, Quarter, Registration District, Volume and Page numbers).
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

I agree that the marriage certificate is the obvious way to go.

In addition, have you found him in any censuses, and what is his approximate birth year?

If married in 1850, and arrived Australia in 1852, are they in the 1851 English census?
